This type of file format would be easy to edit, and very versatile as the information is organized into logically named layers. This format can provide you clearer prints at virtually any size, as it is resolution independent. We can trace/digitize your data/drawings quickly and accurately. We are able to update existing vector, raster, paper based maps and drawings. We can produce new maps or drawings from scratch, based from your ideas and sketches. Precision Scanning: We start by creating a high-resolution digital scan of your physical map. Georeferencing (GeoTIFF): We align that scan with real-world coordinates, transforming a simple image into a georeferenced GeoTIFF that "knows" exactly where it sits on the globe. Vectorization & Shapefiles: Finally, we trace and convert your data-lines, boundaries, and areas-into industry-standard vector Shapefiles (.SHP) or MapInfo (.TAB). Now your legacy data is ready for modern GIS analysis, CAD software, or GPS integration. From Paper to Pixels to Vectors / From Map to Scan to GIS or CAD. Small and Large Format Scanning:Digital output produced from our full color top quality high resolution 54 inch wide roll fed Scanner. Our rate for this service is $4.00 cdn per square foot, colour, Grayscale, or B/W. We can post most scanned files quickly on our FTP site and provide you with a clickable link to easily download. Alternatively, we can save your Data onto a USB stick, CD-Rom, DVD or send by Email. A minimum scanning charge may apply. Send us your paper maps, prints, photos, charts, drawings, artwork, pictures, paintings, posters and banners for high quality scanning; transforming them from paper to digital raster (scanned) files; files which you can edit without damaging the originals, print clearly from and reproduce. When ordering, please choose the output from: B/W, Grayscale, Indexed 256 colors (8 bit), RGB (16 bit), or CMYK. You can also specify the DPI (Dots Per Inch) resolution you would like (300 dpi is usually standard).
